QUALITY AND SAFETY
Always first-class. Always safe. – this is our mission! Captrain Deutschland always delivers first-class, safe logistics services. And never rests on its laurels. That's why our various divisions are regularly and thoroughly reviewed by external experts – and we have it in black and white:
The Captrain Deutschland Group is subject to an annual audit in accordance with the internationally recognised quality management system, ISO 9001:2015, during which we externally demonstrate that quality determines our thoughts and actions in every sub-process. Our process and systems-focused approach meets our objective of continuous development and improvement.
Captrain is qualified and experienced in the handling of everything from chemicals, through mineral oil products, to residues in need of monitoring and other explosive goods. Our companies, Dortmunder Eisenbahn GmbH, ITL Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH and Captrain Deutschland CargoWest GmbH, have successfully completed the SQAS Assessment recognised throughout Europe. SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System) requires that transport companies – especially those serving the chemical industry – undergo regular and consistent safety, quality and environmental sustainability assessments by independent external experts.
The health and safety of our staff is our top priority. This involves identifying hazards at an early stage and introducing preventive measures. The internationally recognised occupational safety standard, OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System), is a system for constantly improving companies' occupational health and safety. Based on the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007, Dortmunder Eisenbahn GmbH and Hansebahn Bremen GmbH have been awarded the 'AMS Occupational Safety Management System' certificate by the statutory accident insurer, VBG.
The safety of 'rolling stock' is another priority for Captrain Deutschland. The workshops of Dortmunder Eisenbahn GmbH, Hansebahn Bremen GmbH and ITL Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH hold freight wagon maintenance certificates (ECM IV) in accordance with EU Directive 445/2011 of 10 May 2011 (ECM-VO). In addition, Dortmunder Eisenbahn and ITL Eisenbahngesellschaft have been certified as Entities in Charge of Maintenance – ECM and therefore meet all the requirements to ensure the safe operational condition of freight wagons.
